QUESTIONS FOR THE HEART
by Josef M Münch
Perpetually aching heart
what keeps ye beating?
As vanquished as ye are,
hope temporal and fleeting
Perpetually breaking heart
what keeps ye whole?
A life so unrelenting
doubtless exacts its toll.
Perpetually heavy heart
are ye not expended?
With weight so unremitting,
desire ye not to end it?
Perpetually saddened heart
what keeps ye alive?
When all ye know is pain
is it time to say goodbye?
FIREFLIES
by Josef M Münch
Forever chasing lights in the tunnel
but they are merely lies
For there is no light at the end of the tunnel
only fireflies
TO THE DISCOURAGED
by Josef M Münch
Condemned to die; oh, but what a relief from his Stygian existence.
Obdurate nor inimical a countenance, not his;
of zero consequence nevertheless.
For any illusion of equity in life
had long since been consciously dispatched.
