Hi everyone, my name is Sharon and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand, with my husband, two daughters, one cat and a dog.

I am pretty much an amateur when it comes to photography. I have always enjoyed photographing flowers and building photo books full of memories of special times for my family, but it has really only become more of a passion about five years ago after taking a couple of night classes in portraiture and night photography, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed and which inspired me to continue on and learn more.

I love using natural lighting and colours in my photography and am always trying to capture the true essence of my subjects. My friend Ann Coates (another BetterPhoto member) encouraged me to join and it has been amazing to be amongst some very talented people and to be able to learn through studying their amazing work.
